The Aerolase Neo is a unique one-of-its-kind patented 650 microsecond laser that allows skin rejuvenation, skin tightening, hair reduction, treatment of acne, of acne scars, spider veins on the face and legs, pigment irregularities, melasma and more. The Aerolase NeoClear is the only laser of its kind that gives these types of results in patients with acne. The advanced 650-microsecond laser technology reduces sebum production, inflammation and the bacterial count of p. acne, which is the cause of acne. This is an excellent way to reduce the number of active oil glands that cause eruptions periodically. The texture of the skin also shows a very impressive improvement. Monthly treatments are administered over about six treatments. Results are seen after the second treatment in most patients, although we have been told that our patients see an improvement in the skin even after the first treatment.

The Aerolase Neoskin can be used in all skin types: this is the first time that safe treatments can be administered to all skin types.

Melasma is a very common problem in patients of color and in all types of patients after pregnancy, after hormone therapy or in those with a family history of melasma.

Melasma is one of the most difficult conditions to treat and there has not been an accepted reliable treatment for this condition ever! While the Aerolase Neoskin does not completely eliminate melasma, the results are amazing with improvements seen even after the first treatment. The laser is painless and with no downtime. The Aerolase Neo is excellent for reduction of hair densite, especially the dark hair. It is particularly effective for patients with pseudofolliculitis barbae (PFB) which is caused by traumatic folliculitis in the beard area. The condition is often called "shaving bumps" or "ingrowing beard hairs". The Aerolase Neo treatment reduces the density of the hair in these areas and reduces inflammation and pain.

Scars may occur after surgery, following trauma or burns or other cicatrizing diseases. Revision of scars is sought to improve the obvious unacceptable changes present which can vary from raised scars, pink scars, rough skin, irregularities of surrounding structures or all of the above. With appropriate scar revision and application of the Aerolase Neo laser, we can improve most scars. The laser helps to improve the color as well as the texture of the scar. Elevated scars are reduced with appropriate injections with or without scar revision procedures.

How do the Aerolase treatments feel and is there any downtime?

These Aerolase treatments are painless with no scabbing, bruising or any downtime. Patients can wear makeup the same day and return to work or other normal activities.

When an aggressive treatment is administered to pink scars or pink stretch marks, there will be a sensation of tingling and mild stinging. The skin may be a little more pink for about two days but this is mild.

The versatile Aerolase neo laser

What is the difference between the different light and laser treatments I see advertised?

Most places will use one machine and hand-piece. Also, unless a physician is treating you, the machine power will have a more limited ability as there is a risk of burns and injury in the wrong hands. We don’t use one laser and one hand-piece. We have four different lasers

we use on all our patients and a total of 8 hand-pieces. This allows us to play an orchestra rather than a flute: different lasers and hand-pieces allow us to improve or eradicate even the most stubborn of vessels and spots: just look at our before-and-after photographs.

Advanced Fotofacial treatment and chemical peels may be used concurrently to improve facial pigmentation, especially in Eastern faces as shown here.

What moisturizer should I use?

There is no need to get any particular moisturizer: most of our patients are happy with the usual over-the-counter moisturizers (Eucerin, Aquaphor or Lubriderm). Some patients seem to like the feel of Cera-Vu moisturizer, which is also available at most stores. If you are using creams with retin-A or exfoliants (glycolic acids, etc), then you would start using them again one week after your treatment.
