"Well, the last time I had a picture taken I could hardly see my eyes because of the weight of heavy eyelid. Then I paid attention to how I was actually using my eyes and I really noticed when I was looking at anything especially the computer I was straining my forehead to see better. Since I have had it done I no longer have to lift the forehead and tilt my head to see. It is amazing! I love..." D. Rock 63 Yrs Old with Fat Droopy Eyes - Salt Lake City, UT
how do lower eyelids age?
We look at one another from “eye-to-eye”, and, therefore, aging of lower eyelids becomes apparent earlier than most other facial changes. We have developed an anatomical and scientific system of analyzing lower eyelid.
aging: it isn’t just a matter of “I have baggy lower eyelids!” A careful analysis and appropriate planning, together with a review of younger photographs allows us to design the best possible surgical outcome. Besides the list of soft tissue aging changes listed above, bony changes (recession of the cheek bone and expansion of the bony opening of the orbit as seen below) and deep tissue changes and descent also occur and must be considered.

Multiple non-invasive and surgical options must be considered to achieve lower eyelid rejuvenation.
Not without reason is it universally agreed that lower eyelid blepharoplasty is one of the most difficult procedures in cosmetic plastic surgery: detailed knowledge of anatomy, physiology, age, sex, race and effects and side-effects of additive and subtractive procedures is paramount if one is to avoid one of the many minor and major side-effects seen with lower eyelid procedures. We “fix” many complications and unacceptable results of cosmetic lower eyelid blepharoplasty, but the repair of such problems can often be more involved than primary surgery.
Best not to get a complication in the first place! What?
